A state contract is being discussed this afternoon after Corrections Corporation of America proposed to build a prison within the residential community Marion Oaks. Over 9-hundred acres along the south side of County Road 4-84, is where the prison would be located. The C-C-A considered expanding two additional facilities it operates in other counties, but decided the Marion Oaks location would be the most feasible solution. Manager of Marion Oaks Beth Fisher doesn't feel the same way. Fisher says part of the meeting today will discuss the steps Marion Oaks plans on taking to make sure that this does not occur. A contract for the facility is expected to be signed by November First, and the prison would be required to be built by April 30th, 2010.
