Bees colonies are dwindling no thanks to the Colony Collaspe Disorder. The cause of the dieases is not for sure, but many believe it has to do with pesticides. University of Florida bee and apiculutre expert, Jamie Ellis believes bees are dying to other factors. The disappearance of bees does affect vegetation and growth. Ellis says honey bees pollinate various crops from almonds in California to watermelons in Florida. He also says the public can do their part to help keep the bees alive. Ellis says at his lab at UF, bees are being looked at through chemical and management issues.
