Researchers at the University of Florida are studying a family based weight management intervention program for families enrolled in Florida Medicaid. Also known as Flip for Kids, the program is funded by a grant from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. One leader of the program, Assistant Professor in Clinical and Health Psychology at UF David Janicke, says obesity is a problem with kids. Parents will also be involved in the process so children can see a healthy lifestyle at home. The program will begin this fall at Shands at UF and will last through the year 2009.
