The High Springs Farmer's Market is looking to expand and the meetings are underway. Last night the High Springs City Commission reviewed some new ideas for making the Farmer's Market even bigger. Manager for the High Springs Farmer's Market, Sharon Yeago says this meeting brought up two important issues. Yeago says one important aspect of the market is that people come from all around the surrounding areas of the city to buy this cheaper food. Yeago says the High Springs Farmer's Market is keeping prices pretty low especially compared to other grocers around the country but they could still be affected by the poor state of the economy. She adds that farmers will be affected mostly by the seed prices that are rising.. which they have to buy.
