Innocence Project of Florida

The American Civil Liberties Union and the Innocence Project of Florida are meeting together to discuss Florida's prison and death row populations. This evening the two groups will meet in Pensacola to talk about how Florida leads the nation in death row exonerations and how the prison population is rising in the state. Director of Innocence Project of Florida, Seth Miller says three lawyers and six to eight interns a year work together to help innocent people get the justice they deserve. Miller says he takes the time to get the word out about the Innocence project since many people don't understand what goes on in the courtrooms and prisons. Miller says 26 people have been exonerated in Florida this year which is the nation's highest. He adds that Innocence of Florida has successfully exonerated about one person a year since they started in January of 2003.
