Budget cuts are all colleges and universities are talking about, and for the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of Florida, now is when the difficult work begins. Yesterday UF President Bernie Machen addressed everyone at a press conference sharing what he and other Dean's thought necessary for the universities budget cuts. Chair for the Board of Trustees for UF, Diana Morgan says during a time like this it is best to look to the positives. Morgan says during this week the trustees are reviewing the plans for budget cuts and going over the details before a meeting next week. She says the trustees will be asking questions to better understand everything during this process. Morgan says the cuts in education are only the result of one thing. Morgan says it is not the state funding that is a challenge but the challenge is tuition. She says the University of Florida's tuition is soo low, much lower than other top universities so it becomes a struggle during budget time.
