Authorities in North Florida are charging a 15 year old Melrose girl and her 22 year old boyfriend of beating a man to death. Putnam County officials have issued a first degree murder warrant for Morgan Leppert and her boyfriend Toby Lowry. An Amber Alert was put out for Leppert over the weekend and shortly after the two were found in El Paso, Texas. The state attorney's office says it is up to a grand jury on whether to charge 15 year old Leppert as a juvenile or adult in the killing of 66 year old James Stewart. Authorities say Lowry will be transported from Texas to Florida on charges of grand theft auto for stealing Stewart's pickup and interference of custody. He will also be charged with first-degree murder when he returns to the state.
