An Academy Award winner will grace the stage at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts tomorrow evening. Diablo Cody is the writer of the film "Juno" and will speak at an event sponsored by the University of Florida's Accent Speaker's Bureau. Accent chairman Steven Blank explains why they chose Cody to make an appearance.
Cody won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay this year for "Juno." Previously, Cody worked as a dancer and wrote a book on her experiences. Blank says the response from the public for Cody's speech is overwhelming.
Accent is paying Cody 40-thousand dollars for the speech which is being held tomorrow at 8 P-M at the Phillips Center. The speech is free and open to the public.
