MADD Pushes "Support 21" Campaign

In their "Support 21" campaign, mothers against drunk driving teamed up with prominent groups like the American Medical Association in a series of conferences today to express their support of the minimum drinking age being 21 years old. The executive director of MADD in Florida, Don Murray, says MADD presented evidence on the dangers of underage drinking and will continue to support their findings with scientific proof. John McCardell, the director of Choose Responsibility, a group which believes young adults should choose at 18 whether they wish to drink, believes MADD presented valid statistics at the conference, but omitted facts which didn't agree with their point of view and exaggerated those points which supported their findings. Choose Responsibility was not allowed to attend any of the conferences.
