A Florida legislature decision in October could save Floridians money on auto insurance. The legislature will be deciding on the expiring no fault accident system. If the system is allowed to expire, Florida will move to a fault based accident system where those responsible for auto accidents will cover all medical costs. Floridians for Lower Insurance Costs member Doug McAlarny says there will be a move to a fault based system. The state's two largest auto insurance providers, State Farm and All State, have plans to lower prices on premiums if the legislature allows the system to expire. Under the no fault system citizens are required to have ten thousand dollars in personal injury protection to pay for medical costs in an auto accident regardless of who is at fault.
