Gear Up Florida Hits Gainesville

Fraternity men are cycling for people with disabilities today in Gainesville. The Gear Up Florida program is a cycling trek that travels throughout the state to raise money and awareness for disabled people. Program Director of Marketing and Public Relations Kyle Thomas says the whole state will be covered. The cyclists made their way through Gainesville this morning. The money raised from Gear Up Florida goes towards grants that are given out to other organizations raising awareness for people with disabilities. Thomas says there's a program kicking off this summer that also receives some of the proceeds. Gear Up Florida will visit 13 Florida cities and cycle an average of 75 miles a day.
