Titans Sue Kiffin, USC Over Hiring Of Coach
The Tennessee Titans have sued USC and its football coach, Lane Kiffin, over the hiring by Kiffin of one of Tennessee’s assistant coaches.
The lawsuit says Kiffin “maliciously” lured away assistant running backs coach Kennedy Pola to USC to become the Trojan offensive coordinator a week before the Titans open their NFL training camp.
The lawsuit also says USC and Kiffin maliciously intended to, and did, induce Pola to breach his contract with Tennessee to move to USC. In doing so the lawsuit states, the school and Kiffin were not legally justified in their actions.
Kiffin did acknowledge in a statement that the timing in the situation “isn’t perfect” but he did say that Titans coach Jeff Fisher “now has an accurate understanding of the timeline of the events.”
