Friday Night Lights Nets Two For Gators...So Far
The annual recruiting pitch of Friday Night Lights is over now for the Gator football team but two prospects committed over the weekend and others may be close.
The Gators got verbal commitments in the 2011 class from Delaware offensive lineman Tripp Thurman (6’6” 302 pounds) and Pensacola defensive back Louchiez Purifoy (6’0” 170 pounds) but others could follow soon.
Players like Texas defensive back Charles Jackson have narrowed their choices to include Florida; Jackson says it is down to Florida and Oklahoma for his services. Georgia linebacker A.J. Johnson told several recruiting services that Florida is now his leader as well.
Defensive back Nick Waisome of Grovleand South Lake High School could also be verbally committing to Florida although Florida State and some other schools are still in the running for his play.
